World Arak Day Online Cocktail Competition

In celebration of World Arak Day on June 27th, we’re inviting bartenders from around the globe to showcase their creativity and skill with Arak — the anise-flavored spirit of the Levant.

What We're Looking For: An original Arak-based cocktail that celebrates tradition while pushing creative boundaries. Whether you work with a modern twist or stay true to regional roots, we want to see what you can do with this iconic spirit.

How to Enter: This is a global social media-based competition, open to professional bartenders worldwide.

To participate, each entrant must:

  • Develop and share an original Arak-based cocktail recipe

  • Post a demo reel of the cocktail being made

  • Include still shots of the final cocktail and ingredients

  • Share posts via your personal social media account and, if applicable, your host bar or restaurant’s account

  • Make at least one post about the history and culture of Arak (we can provide content if requested)

  • Include one announcement post on June 27 to celebrate World Arak Day and your participation

  • Tag @worldarakday and @terra_sancta_wines_and_spirits in all posts

  • Include your cocktail on your bar’s menu from June 27 – July 27. Participating bars and cocktails will be featured on worldarakday.com and @worldarakday on social media.

Prizes:

  • U.S.-based Winner: A once-in-a-lifetime trip to Lebanon including round-trip flights and accommodations. The winner will tour distilleries, learn the Arak-making process firsthand, and explore Beirut’s vibrant cocktail scene.

  • International Winner (non-U.S.): $500 USD cash prize

Additional Notes:

  • You may use any brand of Arak (Levantine-based Arak required, Batavia Arrack may not be used)

  • All content submitted (photos, videos, and recipes) grants usage rights to Terra Sancta and World Arak Day, with credit to the original creator

  • Finalists will have their cocktails recreated and judged by a panel of expert mixologists

Terra Sancta and World Arak Day are not responsible for any violations of local laws or platform terms.

Participants grant Terra Sancta and World Arak Day the right to use submitted content (including but not limited to images, videos, and recipes) for promotional purposes in perpetuity, with appropriate credit given. Prizes are non-transferable and may be subject to change or substitution at the discretion of the organizers.

Airfare and accommodations for the U.S. winner will be arranged by the organizers and are subject to availability and visa approval; no cash alternative will be provided. International (non-U.S.) winners are solely responsible for any taxes, fees, or legal implications associated with the cash prize in their home country.

By participating, entrants release and hold harmless Terra Sancta, World Arak Day, and all affiliated partners from any liability, injury, loss, or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the competition or any prize won.
